Join us on October 3rd for our first Blessing of the Animals service!
This special service comes from remembering St. Francis of Assisi who believed that all living things should be shown love, respect and care. He famously preached a sermon to birds and called animals “brother” and “sister”.
Pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome (though please take precautions to make sure that others are safe: dogs should be on leash and all other pets should be in carriers or containers). If your pet is unable to attend, pictures are welcome. We will gather at the front lawn of Advent for the service. Even if you don’t have a pet, you are more than welcome to attend this service and enjoy the festivities.
If you are bringing a dog, Barnum park just south of the church would be an excellent picnic lunch option after the service.
