Join us for the second lecture in the Becoming Human: Love, Virtue, and Personhood in C.S. Lewis’ The Magician’s Nephew lecture series. Chris Varga will be speaking, in person, on Aslan's Tears.
Over the years, various critics have suggested that C. S. Lewis neglected the role of compassion in his writings about love. In this talk, Christopher Varga argues that in The Silver Chair and The Magician’s Nephew, Lewis in fact powerfully affirms the compassionate love of God through his depictions of the weeping Aslan.
The evening opens with a reception, followed by spoken word readings and music, and continues with the lecture.
